But they both assured me they had never seen such an envelope, neither today nor before. We can easily see this is something old, no need to be an archivist for that. Of course, I was first really upset that someone could put something that important to me in the pile of things we would burn really soon. The ones we used to have in the XIX th and early XX th centuries, to announce peoples death. Something I know well a black bordered enveloppe. As we were all working hard to make things done quickly, I noticed something on the "ready-to-burn-pile". Cardboard boxes, wood and things she didn't want to take with her to the new house. Our mom decided to create a stack of things she wanted to get rid of. We were 3 that day Me, my elder brother and our mom. And anyway, everything is already meticulously classified.Everyone in my family knows how important those ancient papers are to me, to us, to the family. As the responsable of all those documents, I know where each document is. I'm keeping all my family's archives, dated from 1342 to nowadays. Pierre Mathouillet in 1882.The mother, Marie d'Azincourt, died in 1888, and the father on June 1 st, 1900.Georges had never been maried, fell ill, and died on January 13 th, 1917. The picture below was taken in august 1872. We could say he was from a bourgeois family.He also had a big sister, Henriette, and a young brother, Louis. His father, Pierre, was a tax collector, and her mom was named Marie d'Azincourt. He was born in Dijon on October 30 th, 1858. Georges was my great-great-great-great-uncle on my dad's side.
